Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than 20 years. Her current position is that as president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the National Basketball Association's controlling owners. Buss is an California native, and was raised by a wealthy family. Jerry Buss' father was a real-estate magnate who was later a part owner of the Lakers and various other sports organizations. The couple divorced in 1972 which made her feel emotionally neglected. When she was 19 years old, she became the general manager of Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis club. Later, she founded the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. The position she held was the president for Great Western Forum prior to becoming vice-president for the Lakers. Buss was the inheritor of the Lakers by her dad in 2013. Five siblings of hers were the inheritors through a family trust. Buss assumed the role of president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also the co-founder of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling organization based at Los Angeles.
