John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched a lot of people with his songs. A lot of them have roots in Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. is a New Mexican born singer-songwriter who fell in adore with Colorado. Denver's iconic anthems for Colorado have been a major influence on many to move to the state. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame says the fact that John Denver is unlike any other performer who has the recognizable image of Colorado. Denver was the very one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Denver has been the symbol of Colorado to the people all over. On my journeys around the world, I have met many people who are not from Colorado. People will say, "Oh John Denver!" whenever they learn that you come from Colorado. Brown explained. Denver's debut Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short career performing in small folk music bands included Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track in the spirit of Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear an early version of the song and realized it was going to be a top 10 hit. Danoff recorded the song a couple of days after playing in Washington D.C. before an large crowd who were very appreciative.
