Reese Witherspoon started seriously pursuing an acting career after she was enrolled in Stanford University. Early successes in the field of critical success included parts in movies like Pleasantville and Election however it was her role as Elle Woods in the box office hit Legally Blonde that marked a turning point in her professional career.
